Question about element boost unit

If you equip element boost, can it raise your weapon's element to a level it could not naturally have?

Example: If I have a mechgun with a level 3 element (which is they highest it can have), will equipping an element boost do anything for that particular weapon?

WIth an element boost, your mechgun's level is then equivalent to having a level 4 element on it. The element boost will raise the level of any weapon to the next highest (lvl 5 element being the cap for all weapons, with or without element boost).

Im pretty sure, but dont quote me on this, that an element can be raised past its max with element boost. Mech gun lv3+ element boost= Mech gun lv4.

You're absolutely right ice sniper. However, you can't add an element boost to a weapon already having lvl 5 elements.

Yes, Element Boost has the following characteristics:
-Raises Element level by 1
-Can raise a weapon past it's normal drop level
-Can not raise any weapon past level 5
-Can not stack
