Can I use the BBA without having to use a router?

OK so right now my stepmom is shopping. So I asked her to pick me up a BBA for my gamecube. Can I just take the wire out of the back of my cable modem or do I have to get a router? Thanks a bunch people!!!

You can just take the cat5 cable running from your cable modem into your computer, unplug it from the computer side, and plug it into your gamecube.

The router is only if you want both online at the same time.

It should work, but to make the switch between your computer and your gamecube, you might have to unplug the power to the cable modem for 5 minutes. This might have to be done every time you switch the cable.
