PSO GC goes #1 on my list for the nostalgia factor, splitscreening just rocks.
PSO BB is #2 for me because I can finally experience PSO online.

My favorite online Phantasy Star games:
1) PSPo2 and PSOBB (voted PSPo2).
About PSPo2, I like the added difficulty compared to PSU, the new enemies (including the PSO based ones), the new areas, the costumization options, the added gameplay features, and...well, almost everything. Only things I dislike are it being for the Playstation Portable and having to randomly find the photon arts with specific levels instead of training them.
About PSOBB, it's basically PSO EP1&2 plus EP4 (the classic PSO plus something new) and it's on the platform I prefer to play (PC).

2) PSO ver.2 (Dreamcast).
The first PSO I played, added for nostalgia. :3

3) PSU v1 (after Firebreak).
On the early days of PSU there wasn't much content, but when I started playing there was quite a bit to do (around 1 month after Firebreak or so). I liked v1 more than AotI because it was harder and weapons below S rank were actually worth something.

4) PSZero.
I didn't played PSZero much, but the little I could play was nice.

5) PSU Aoti.
About AotI, I hate how slow the updates became, not only in the western version but also in the JP version, I dislike the lame lvl 150+ dropcharts (too many useless kubara copies), the high amount of events, how everything became too easy, master classes, rare missions and the many v1 missions that were left with low level enemies when they could have been much more interesting if they were upgraded to AotI standards. Plus there would have been more stuff to do if they upgraded those missions in times that had less updates.
