I do way more damage with my twin pistols then I do with my rifle.I have a 10 star twin pistol and the 25,000 kills rifle both fully ground and the rifle does barely more damage with a noticeably slower firing rate, along with the inability to move and fire.That's why they seem under powered to me. Then again twin pistols seem horribly over powered to me compared to other guns.

That's because you're using twin handguns the right way but rifles the wrong way. Anyways, there's only a day left in the event but the 35 million mark for the Gran Orca has been met so there's nothing left to do but coast now. There are still some nice weapons to be had through drops so aiming for them while the drop rate is boosted might be a good idea.

Stand back and blast away? At least that has worked the best for me, especially on bosses. Build up a combo and let rip with a charge shot.
Edit: In first person mode. First person mode adds an ata bonus that noticably boosts ranged weapon damage.
That's exactly what I do with both and the damage is noticeably worse with a rifle.

There's no doubt that twin handguns have a greater DPS than rifles. And you if you're using a rifle to tackle small to medium size enemies (unless it's an instant death rifle), you're not using the weapon. However, the rifle's range and accuracy make it far easier to safely hit enemies and the bullet soft areas on bosses.

As a braver lv 200 rifles are lifesaving and brilliant against opposite element enemies.
Also, you can use the charged attack twice if you break the chain with one to begin with =).
Shotguns are awesome too =) with a Spread Needle you're guaranteed to paralyze almost any enemy.
