The fact that you'll be playing on-line means that levelling with friends or new people

If Jet and Sharky are getting it, then I just might have to cave and get the US release as well. Playing with old friends is something the JP version will never be able to deliver to me.

i have to preorder or i wont get a copy i live in a small town and so preordering at gamestop is the only way to guarantee ill get a copy when the first psp come stateside i had to preorder it too the only got 3 copys in and all of them where preordered and not one retailer in the area had it

This. I really can't be bothered doing Story Mode again (already had to do it twice), and I hate the game at low level. Besides, my friend that I play with regularly is on JP side and I don't think he'll switch over. If he does, I'll consider getting the US game.

I hope that if there are any pre-order bonuses, they include the PSPgo users as well. We can't pre-order a "digital copy".
