The new mission is up. The reward(s) are the "dagger-handguns" from the item creration contest. Which one you get depends on your job.

Semi-related, there were also a few more bannings related to cheating and (likely)sex-chat.

Those are all some really awesome weapon designs. I look forward to seeing the Olga Grenade Launcher (it's a launcher, yes?)!

there are shadows on the enemies...hence the name of the mission "Shadow Suppression"

There are also targets on the enemies. You can also see them on the mini-map. Them being invisible is more of an annoyance than anything else. If there was a way to remove the targets and the dots on the mini-map then this mission would be more interesting.

Yes, it's a grenade launcher. It's called Dark Meteo and it and the Bil De Bear Rod are the last two design contest items to not yet released for PSP2.
