I doubt you'll have to exchange codes (like over the Nintendo WiFi for PSZ), you will most likely be able to add friends through their names. You will be able to play with people you know, but you will also be able to assemble a party with random people online. Pretty sweet, huh?

Yea thats the one downside to Zero. If you do free play you cant chat with anyone and it makes it way lame.

Yes... though chatting in PSP2 is tedious, auto-replies make do however.

Ugh, Phantasy Star has never been an MMO, and never will.

Nintendo really needs to overall their online system. Games from 15 years ago have better online functionality.

    THIS

You'll be better off using a IM/Chat system.

The 3000 PSP models have a built-in microphone, while the older models can get one. Isn't there an audio chat option in there? I'm sure the PSP han handle it if the DS can. I mean, even the Pokemon games from 3 years ago had that, and the next ones will have video chat xD

There's no voice chat in the Japanese version.
