I think the opponents teleporting around the field will dissuade more people from playing than balance. It takes two minutes to change your class to battle, but what can you do about a a player who magically pops up behind you from ten yards away.

Is this a problem due to the server or just different people's connections?

Mostly people's connections. I fight with friends that never lag.

Its people's connections. While there are PSN servers we connect to, most of the data transfer is P2P (person to person) so internet speed and stability play a big role in who is hosting and who connects.

i seriously suck at battle mode i didnt care for it in pso and that didnt change though i do know that some like it so im happy sega put it in for those who do but i am a little annoyed that i have to play battle mode to get some titles
