I play solo as a ranger, and I am very much offensive with it. And as a cast, I'm not quite as squishy as the other race's rangers, slap a save bullet on just about anything, and I can shell out damage as the day is long.
Not to mention the double charge shot; utilizing combo's properly, ranger's can hit a lot harder than Hunters can, so long as the melee types aren't always breaking chains.
