Default Wifi Switch turning off on its own

Any fix for this? I'm online, and I can set the psp down, and randomly it will say "wifi switch is turned off. Returning to title" or something like that. I don't even need to touch the psp and it happens some times. But its very upsetting when it happens online when ive been playing in a good party for 15 minutes and it does it at the boss.

There must be a fix to prevent it from physically being turned off, even it you move the switch to off position... Seems like there would be a program that forces to wifi to stay on no matter what?

I use OFW but I cannot afford a new psp, and I don't want to use CFW because of all the problems it causes with psp2... =/ im prolly sol

I don't think there is anything available.

CFW, if at all, but that's not an option for you.

I assume it happens even when you have a strong wireless connection? Maybe it's time to save up for a new one.

It has nothing to do with my connection. It says "the wifi switch is turned off". I just saw a guide about soldering two points together on the motherboard to make it permanently on... Kinda scary though. I'll probably have to look into it.

Do you mean it slides back to the off position during gameplay?
Or even if it is in the on position fails to actually stay on for long?

The actual switch is ALWAYS in the on position. It doesnt move ever. I noticed that, when in the menu to go to story/multi/online, there is a on screen indicator of your wifi status, and after putting it on that screen and setting it down, it will flicker between on and off randomly. It seems as though something is loose inside...

Theres already tape over it... I take it off and slide it rapidly on and off for like 5 minutes, and this seems to cause it to say on for about a half hour. its about 10-15 minutes if i leave it alone

I'm one of those people who's having the same problem. Any chance you also have the 2000 model?

    yes sir.

Ive replaced dozens of psp screens, motherboards, button pads over the years, but the wifi component still remains a mystery to me. lol.

I know at least 2 more that has the same problem. They also have the 2000 model. I was thinking that we sort of fried the wifi of our psp's since we play 5 hours straight online on weekends
