Default Why is it so inactive online?

I mean...the demo was more populated than this! This doesn't even have 1 star on Universe 1! Would this have something to do with Halo: Reach coming out the same day, or is it just because a lot of people seem fed up with PSU and they don't want to buy another one? Any ideas? I'm completely stumped.

It's because Phantasy Star in general is a kind of "underground" franchise over here in the West. It's fairly unknown by most gamers, unless they research these kinds of games.

Also, demo players are about the same level range. It's easy to find someone to play with.

I usually wait or just try on different time/day to play, when all I can see is chat, gf/bf rooms online. When there are active players, the party is either locked or they're too high or low level for me to join with.

And this is why GS just cheeses me off. The one I went to actually handed me an opened copy of PSP 2 a couple days after release and tried to charge me full price. Returned that one for a full refund, and bought sealed from Best Buy.

But seriously, for a company that thrives on pre-sales, they really should know better.

Yeah, unfortunately it's an underrated game as well.

If nothing else, we can meet and form up teams with others here from PSOW.

You can try the chatroom in my sig, though it has been slipping in activity recently.

And where, pray tell, would one go to meet up and party with other PSOW members?

this is where you plug your chat channel.

Is it also because talking is so super difficult?
Part of the fun for me on pso and psu (regular) was that you could actually join games and then talk to the people. I've met some great friends that way. With this, it takes ages to spell anything. "Where do you want to go" and "I'm hunting for a ____" are even difficult. You can't discuss anything, you can barely argue or agree.

Everything has to be set up beforehand (like on here, or Sega's) and use a pre-set-up chat room. This puts a big damper on partying with strangers, playing pick up games, or even getting a battle ring going. So far, it's this fact and the cheating (they erase your room, erase you, delete your stuff, or make you unable to ever lvl again, (thus effectively making you erase yourself) has caused me to have NEVER joined an open game thus far. I haven't been able to buy a new memorycard yet for backups (against cheating)
