by room based what do you mean is it like the xbox 360 version were everyone is all out there hanging out or is it more you need to know people already with the game to do anything??

It like there 1 server/universe only.After that you are allowed to look at all the available rooms or create/host one yourself.You hang out at the city/lobby and go ahead and get the game started.

Best to look at videos on Youtube about the in-game looks.
