what firmware is required to go online?

Can anybody tell me what firmware is required to play PSP2 on psn? They are forcing a mandatory update as of yesterday.

You need OFW to connect properly. If you're using HEN, going back to OFW shouldn't be a problem anyways. You purchased the game, right? If so, should be no problem playing with OFW.

While CFW is not prohibited to discuss, but any mention of name, link, or how-to is a no-no here. If you are using one, ask in the forums that provide or support such ware. They would be able to freely tell you.

There are legal benefits to homebrew, i guess people forget about that.

Uh, Wayu. CFW is Custom FirmWare for PSPs. It allows homebrew and other uses that are dubious and it mostly looked down on (read, pirating).

Apparently you don't have to update.
If you sign in to PSN from the xmb, you'll be asked to accept the new psn TOS and then it'll let you play online.
