Mysynth - evolution device

So as I understand it the more you level/do missions with your MS the higher "level" it will get in, terms of giving you things... Like, it gains 3p for every S rank that you get.
And it is supposed to/MAY give its final(?) evolution device at lv.80+, correct?
But is there anything that might prevent that?

I have tried and tried to get my MS to give its final evolution device to me for quite a while now. So it has got well over 80 points.
Do I need to complete the story up to a certain part (get hard mode perhaps?) or do I myself need to be over a certain level? Anything? - Anyone who knows some hidden facts?
Or am I just very unlucky?

Don't change your MySynth's type, otherwise it will reset its Friendship Rating. So if say, you're building up points with the 420 series, you have to stay in the 420 series, or risk resetting the points.

I didn't even know there were upgrade discs until I read this thread. Doh :S

I changed my mysynth and it started giving me items almost immediately (maybe the MOST i done was 5 runs of white beast before it gave me any upgrades). Are you sure that the friend points reset?

I am just working my way to its final evlution, but it has stopped giving me stuff after it reached GH523 it seemes. I might have gotten a second GH523 evolution device from it after it gave me the first one.
Unless, for some reason, there is no GH524 version in the US/EU version...

Again, it resets if go outside the series.

If you were to change your 420 to a 423, the Rating won't reset.

If you change it to a 470, then yes.

Unfortunately, I presume that's just it, we're unlucky

I have gathered about 3 of the 511, 1 of the 512 and 2 of the 513 upgrades off the SAME MySynth and it just won't cough up the last one, 514, for some reason

[EDIT] Just incase you wondered, I've complete the story mode, on hard aswell
