Adhoc party anyone?
okay heres my situation, I live in a apartment with a roommate, we have 1 router, and while my laptop has no issues accessing the wireless, all my handhelds do, my psp cant access the wireless because the router needs to be "Port forward" but my roommate is scared to tamper with his router.
My only option is adhoc party, and I would like to know if anyone else has to resort to this because of horrible impliments in modern routers. if so, lets meet up in PSP2 sometime!

Port forwarding is not hard nor irreversible nor dangerous. All it does is tell the computer to send all information coming in on a port to that specific internal IP address. In truth you shouldn't even need to forward any ports for it to work unless there are ports that need to be used already forwarded to a specific internal IP. in simpler terms, some port you need is pointed to his computer or your laptop already and thus the conflict.
What is most likely happening is not that your router needs port forwarding, but that your handheld is not on the list of allowed devices due to a mac filter or some other security setting and must be added to that list to establish a connection.
I'm able to use Adhoc again so state the channel guys!

Being 'scared' of port forwarding on your router is a crazy fear. Might as well be scared of your neighbors casting spells on you.
