In terms of side stories, I know Heroes Ronde is not needed. I had done the other two by then though so I can't speak for those.

On both my characters, the same pattern occurred.

1) Beat story mode, bad rankings, random answers = bad ending
2) Repeat story mode, bad rankings, correct answers = good ending
3) Repeat story mode, S-rank, correct answers = true ending

I hadn't done any side missions on either. I used the answers on the wiki.

Then you got lucky, because the points system does not work like that.

Each time you start a Story mission, the points for that mission are reset to Zero. When you pick a correct answer, they go up, and are saved at the end of the mission.

You must've just been missing a correct answer on the first mission, re-playing it over and over was a waste of time. Sorry dude!

Didn't work for me, even with 50+ runs of the first story mission. Couldn't get the True ending without all the other missions S-Ranked and correct answered. Though of course this doesn't disprove your comment.

Did you have S-Ranks on every mission when you got the True ending?

The sticky thread Wayu mentions doesn't have a definitive answer, though I still believe what I posted in that thread to be true. I was doing a chapter 10 run after every other Story mission to keep track of exactly what criteria affected the ending.

Hmm....I have no idea if I got the true ending or not. I would describe it but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet. You know just in case what I describe in indeed the true end lol.

If you didn't get Shizuru's partner card, you didn't get the True Ending. You also get a nice room decoration...

Each correct answer and S-Rank only raises your Emilia Score by 1/4th. There's a total of...well, a lot of points (40-50 odd?). The choices made the first time through give out 1 full point, though, as did S-Ranks.

In other words, each Chapter 1 after the first run-through gives out, like, 1 net point.
