So who else Marked for Death and/or otherwise attacked Paarthurnax as soon as they first saw him?

I was like "Aw shit, a dragon before I get to Paarthurnax-wait a minute!", so almost. I do wonder where that fucker went after you beat the main game without killing him. He just flies to wherever-the-fuck with his dragon posse.

Haha me too. The sucky part was saving seconds before on both saves. In other words, I had to reload an autosave that put me back like 20minutes ( I was fighting him for a good 10 minutes downing him a few times wondering wtf was going on lol).


I would also like to update that this game is freakin addicting. Here I am about to sacrifice the rest of my sleep time before work just so I can hopefully finish the thieves guild missions which in return will give me access to one of the coolest looking swords in the game (imo anyway).

A friend came over the other night and brought Skyrim, so I got to try for the first time.
Holy fuck it was awesome!

My experience in the game which probably makes me sound like a complete newbie

While I really wanted to try magic and archery, I decided to just make a simple warrior. In hindsight it might have been a bad idea; the game didn't really fit on my tv screen so I could barely see the health bar. I had to pause the game to check the health meter on the skills screen to see if I needed a potion or not, and since pausing constantly kinda ruins combat, I just hacked away and hoped I would last till the end of the fight. As such, I died once or twice. I got to windhelm and was sent to find the dragonstone or whatever it was, and since I had no idea where to go for that (and I couldn't even read the words on the screen very well) I decided to just go exploring. I went north-westish, and encountered quite a few bandits, guards, and skeevers along the way. Nothing too difficult, although I did have to run away a few times. I decided to turn around when I went into a forest and found a giant just chillin in a clearing. He saw me peaking out from a rock and started lumbering over, so I hauled ass back the way I came. On the way back I took cover in what I thought was a cave, turns out it was a burial site and some guy wanted me to help him defeat a necromancer inside. At level 2, I'm pretty sure I probably shouldn't have been doing that. Somehow I made it out alive though, and with a ton of loot and new equipment. Oh, and I got the guy to follow me around which is a big bonus in combat. I'm surprised, usually AI teammates are shit for damage. This guy was a lifesaver on the way back to windhelm. Once I got there I went back to riverwood, and figured out where I was supposed to go for the dragonstone. I stopped playing there though, so that'll be for when I actually get the game myself.

Anyway, from the two hours or so that I played, this game is awesome. I definitely would recommend it it to anybody who's on the fence about buying it. I didn't think I'd be into the first person combat, but it was actually pretty exciting and easy to get into. Can't wait to play more.
