Looks encouraging for more skill based gameplay though.

I know people here won't agree, but I'm all in for Skill > Stats/Equips (> Luck), though while still having stats/equips being important.

For a example of a current "MMO"RPG that I feel does this well; Spiral Knights.

I liked the way PSP2 made "skill" important, just that once you've mastered all the timing, it instantly became too easy... Yet once you go lazy it felt just a monotonous as spamming one button over and over...

Hopefully this game brings lot's of new challenges.

It also appears that Casts are actually called Casts in PSO2, rather than Androids, judging from the small abbreviations on the weapon card from the gunslash pic.

Yup. They showed up as casts during the media briefing and as casts on the official website. Since they can use techs, I guess it makes sense.

Are CASTs some kind of universal upgrade?

If PSO had Androids... isn't this evidence that it's a completely different civilization and not a branch off from coral or something...? @_@

Well, we really don't know any of the back story to PSO2 so any of the above is possible.

Are casts more advanced than andriods?

If so, it can easily be the same civilization. Just advanced.
