Here's some of the box stats.

    Windows 8.
    Intel Core I5 (3210M)
    15.6 inch LED HD
    Shared VRAM
    6 Gigs of memory DDR3 1600 MGz/4G*1+2G*1
    750 Gig HDD (5.4 SATA)
ODD: Super Multi Dual Layer (SATA)

From what Can You Run It tells me, I don't think I'll be able to on accounts of the videocard. If I can't run Metro 2033 or Just Cause 2, my hopes are somewhat dim. Is there a way to remove and replace the video card in a Samsung Series 5 notebook? And also where to get one (new or used, if it works it's fine with me) as well that won't break my already empty bank

I also hear there's ways of increasing the VRAM as well, but I haven't found out how yet too.
I don't think there's anything you can do to improve that laptop. :\

Oh, and that laptop doesn't really have a graphics "card", the graphics processing unit is integrated inside the processor, if that was a desktop, you could just add a graphics card without having to remove anything, but since that's a laptop, and graphics cards in laptops are usually soldered into the motherboard, there's nothing you can do to add a new graphics card.

Also, since the graphics processor is integrated inside the processor, it actually doesn't have any VRAM, it uses the same RAM as the rest of the system. Even though you can probably increase the amount of RAM it can use in the BIOS, that won't do any miracles due to the graphics core not being good.
If the core is not fast enough to take advantage of a big amount of memory, it doesn't matter if you let it access more memory.

...that's news I didn't want to hear. Thank you for answering.

This I think is the system stats here in the attachment.

What do you think I should do? I doubt returning it is a option, and I can't tell if mine has all those things. I remember running a "Can you run it" site, that I think I need more dedicated VRAM.

    *sigh* geeze.

Just to be sure, install this tool:
    http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.62-setup-en.exe

Go to the "Graphics" tab in the top, check the part that says "Display Device Selection", see if it has multiple options (if it has only one, it'll be greyed), and post what it says there.

Only one, only the Intel HD Graphics 4000

Also, there may be a chance that I can swap this for another laptop.

It was about 700 dollars, so that's how much I'd have to swap it with, lower is better. My mom's a bit sad about it, she said she asked the guy specifically for one that can play games and suggested this. It is quite strong, but it's video card isn't.

Any that you think should be good within that 700 dollar price range? What am I looking for in terms of graphic cards? If there's one that's upgradable too, that's just as perfect, because I can just get that and do it myself later (even though I know all about how laptops aren't really upgrade friendly)

Intel graphics are usually not good for games. :\

This is possibly the best I could find there for below $700:

I'm not completely sure about the graphics card there, I know about the Radeon HD6630M, but I've never heard about a Radeon HD6630S. If it's the same graphics core as the HD6630M, it should at least be noticeably better for games than the laptop with Intel graphics.

What do you all think about this one here.

It's another Envy, but it seems like it has a higher Radeon card, but I'm not sure if it has VRAM like the other.

I just ordered this notebook from Newegg and was wondering if I could potentially run PSO2 on max settings without having any FPS issues/overheating?

    Here are the specs:

    - Intel Core i5 3210M (2.50GHz)
    - 6GB RAM
    - 750GB HDD 5400rpm
    - NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M w/ 2GB
    - 17.3" (1600x900)

Most likely it can play at max settings, but I think it will play more smoothly at the graphics preset 4 instead of 5 (5 is the highest).

Overheating depends on how the heatsink design and thermal material can take out heat when playing on a laptop but that gpu is nearly as good as mine since i have a GTX 260M but lower end cpu, should be able to play at max settings so best to test it out on the game.

Is there a significant difference from from graphic level 4 from level 5?
