Dunno, until I feel like I've learned enough and get back to my comic. Won't be for a while, I still have lots of things to learn. I try to do at least one request each week. Till now I've managed to do so, with an avarage speed of 4 days after work, about 2 hours each day (wish days were longer )

Just to give you guys an idea of how I paint (very roughly, in Photoshop it has lots of layers, though most layers only contain a few things. I simply use layers as a safe point.

Rough sketch, I started this sketch with a horizon-line and a vanishing point. I didn't plan much with this sketch, made up most of the stuff on the go. It's very rough, but it essentially gets the idea down: A robot era, with the main character and his cat in the foreground. A lot of junk surrounding him, and a goal: The tubed castle in the sky. Now lets save that princess!


Blocked out the rough colors, These are just so I can pick colors while painting


All the details painted in. I think I did this in 6 steps. I used the standard round brush with 50% hardness and mostly 30% or 60% opacity.


Here I adjusted the values a bit, trying to get more depth by pushing the values around


The final image with some level adjustments, color balance and such.

I really like the third picture, because the colors seem a little more crisp than the finished painting. I didn't even notice the castle to be honest, until you mentioned it in DA and now that I see the edited versions. Very good progress between the foreground and background.

The third picture could work in some cases, but for a painting to work, you must be able to 'read' the flow of the painting when squinting your eyes.

I unified the colors to a more blue/purplish to make it more easy on the eyes and set a bit of a atmosphere.
