I love those rainbow waterfalls. You are definitely at your best when doing surreal stuff. Even if said surreal stuff is based on cartoons for five year old girls.
The way you can fit in rainbow waterfalls as easily as anything else really impresses me.

Why do people request such complicated stuff. I absolutely hate drawing real people, because I never get them right, especially when you have to make the pose yourself
Actually, the guy's face looks pretty great.
I do agree, your strength is in backgrounds and fantasy elements. Even in this picture, the woods in the back are more interesting than what's going on in front. But, ultimately, people are most interested in other people.
Hm... I wonder if I can take advantage of that. Do I have any location I want painted...
Environments are much more relaxing to make for me. Having to put characters in it, usually limits what I can do with the background, since the character usually should be the main part.
