Cane/Wand series boost?

On this site it says that the cane and wand series gives a technique boost.

I tried this out, but there was no boost.

The only boost I got was couple points with a wand due to the mst boost. Otherwise I did the same damage as if I had no weapon equiped.

The canes have always given me around a 40%-ish boost to the basic spells to their respective spells (club of laconium to foie, etc.). And the wands give a little less but to every spell.

Maybe your game is just retarded.

You were using special canes/wands, right? The basic weapons don't have a spell boost.

Ok, I guess that list is kind of misleading/redundant since it says:

Wand series Simple class tech power 20% increase
Cane series Simple class tech power 40% increase

But then goes on to list each one anyway.
