Pso2.exe has stopped working

Hey all,

So I've updated my graphics card drivers and reinstalled several times and every time, whenever I open the character creator, I get this pso2.exe has stopped working error. It seems like it happens anytime it tries to load a character model.

Anyone else having the same problem/ideas for a solution? I'm considering a windows wipe to see if that helps.

From what I've see, this is only happening if you have the shader on standard. It may be a hardware or driver issue. Still working it out.

Try setting the shader option to simple.

I'm getting this error as will. xBladeM6x, how do we go about changing the shader option?

Edit: The slider in the options menu. Is this ALL graphical quality or just shading? I want it to be pretty! ;~;

Any more indepth clues about this? Most of my friends were able to run it without making this adjustment...

Yep, that fixed it! I would advise anyone else to use the guide Vashyron mentioned (http://bumped.org/psublog/pso2-the-c...us-mini-guide/) to edit the userbenchmark file manually as it didn't always seem to save my settings properly when doing it through the client.

I'm just glad I wasn't the only one having a problem! So, I take it the problem is likely related to the GPU then?

Try re-downloading the beta. Also, is your computer an XP?

I'd like to know if there's anyone on here using an XP and is playing the game without any problems.

I was playing on XP just fine up until the open beta. However I have a different problem. When I start the launcher, it crashes my whole PC every time.

Try re-downloading the beta. Also, is your computer an XP?

No it isn't, It's windows 7. But according to one of my friends who also has Windows 7, he can access settings just fine.

Reinstalled it, and settings button still crashes the game.

This also happens when trying to use the CC(character creator). Settings button on that laucher crashes the game too.
