Techer tips?

Okay, so I've never played a techer class on PSU before. Everything else, yes, but never a techer (aside from Guntecher during an event so I could get to Gunmaster, but I was a cast so I completely ignored the tech aspect). I have a female Newman, and I'm looking to go to Masterforce. However, she's basically just starting out... I just want to have a game plan to work toward as I make my way up the class level ladder.

So, first off... Rods VS Wands VS Madoogs (or w/e). Rods of course have the highest damage, and Madoogs have the highest speed, with Wands right in the middle. I've heard a lot of people say that sticking basic spells (foie, diga, etc) on Wands and Madoogs is a good idea, but I dunno.

Second, what techs are good to level? There's a good guide in the pinned help topic (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108097), but that thread is VERY old. I assume Foie and Diga are still the go-to Basic spells, but that's the extent of what I know.
