There is an upgrade NPC at the Tekker I think. I've upgraded to a +7 sword before, but no Grinder items, just costs meseta depending on the weapon type and level.

There is a failure chance, and you DO need to have grinders, you just may not have noticed yourself picking them up since they show up green on the ground with everything else.

Nope, just make it weaker once it hits a certain point. The first few upgrades are always going to be work, but starting at around level 5 it can fail and go down a level.

I do not understand Japanese, but I believe I had a grinder fail on the second level. It appeared the numbers went up (on the first level) then went down (on the second level). So I would assume something like an 80-90% chance of success for the first few levels. In other words, sux2bme lol.

It seems they're sticking with a similar system to PSU's grinding.
