Eh... not really. It's a common robe, even if it is 7*, and its grind limit being only +5, it pretty much stays how it is when you get it, unlike other rare gear that can get even better after you get it grinded up, like Noble Cloak and Kepler Suit. Still, dat full spectrum 20% resistance to all elements is pretty nice.

As someone who loves to waste hours farming, or treasure hunting of any kind that involves rare items, rare spawns, low drop rates and trading;
Could you give me some advice as to what I should be looking for or hunting? What is the holy grail in this game? Where and what should I be farming? Any specific items you can suggest trying to acquire?

Do the few remaining online players do much trading?

I play a HUmarl, I have been climbing the eternal tower on super and made it very high but got stuck on two powered up red rocket firing machines.

You can assume I know how to play and build an effective character.

Any wisdom you can share would be great.

A few great things I can tell you you would be wise to hunt for (assume max element level and good percents being the obvious desirables):

-Ainsraiffe with Over End PA (7* common sword)
-----Helions in Gurhacia drop them, as do Blade Mothers
-Foie Haze with Air Ride/Reverse Kill PA (7* common daggers)
-----Staggs in Rioh drop them, as do Force Mothers
-Morgenlote (7* common double saber; forced to have Tornado Dance PA)
-----Fruoutangs in Paru drop them, as do Blade Mothers
-Rouge Pulse with Flame Hit PA (7* common handgun)
-----Kapanthas in Makara drop them, as do Shot Mothers
-Lavaeteinn with Mine Sneak PA (7* common rifle)
-----Finjers drop them, as do Shot Mothers
-Alice Olivia with Magical Sign PA (7* common wand)
-----Hildeghana/Hildegigas drop these, as do Force Mothers

With good versions of those commons, you have highly malleable, very forceful weapons to use to hunt rares with.

Good rares to hunt for utility are:

-Milias Breaker (always has Over End)
-----only Humilias drops this
-Zero Rifle with Flame Hit PA (pretty rare)
-----only Shot and Heaven's Mothers drop this
-Psycho Wand (always has Soul Lv4 and Beat Quake PA)
-----only drops *EXTREMELY RARELY from any battle in the Super Eternal Tower

*(Extremely rarely being, you will have to run the Tower about 25+ times all the way, killing everything, to even have HCLOSE to a chance at getting it)

Some other cool rares are worth a lot in trading either due to rarity of being good, difficulty obtaining, or just not being farmed enough and marketed:

I don't think there was ever a time where the opposite were true unless you became SEVERELY overleveled. Enemydrops are pretty much ALWAYS better than the shops, at least if wwe're talking potential, not the common crap... those typically suck, even on Super.

You mean like, the alternate colored/shaped ones? Like Usanimere and Goldix and Euladaveil (for example)? They do appear in ET (along with actual rare mobs like Rappies and Boomas), but naturally, they're rare so it might take you a few runs to find them there. And they drop what they always drop of course, in addition to ET-exclusives... I think.
