RUMOR: Sega employee on /v/ leaks info.

Not sure if this has been mentioned here yet or not but a man on the /v/ boards of 4chan who considers himself one of the higher ups at Sega recently spilled a bunch of information regarding Sega games after doing a little Q and A on the boards.

He talks about a 3rd Jet Set game in consideration if the Dreamcast re-release sells well on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. He also mentions Shenmue and new Sonic DLC.

But my favorite part was when he was asked "Q: phantasy star 2 in the US??????"
and his answers was "A: Yeah PSO2′s coming stateside."

Wait wait wait... Jet Set rerelease? A new Shenmue?! Am I totally out of the loop or is this stuff news to anyone else? Granted, I've ceased looking at gaming "journalism" sites in general because they're all little more than advertising for big game publishers anymore.

Does this guy have any proof he's a higher up in SEGA or are people just supposed to take his word? Given the source is a 4chan board, trolling seems a more likely possibility than some higher up at SEGA spilling the beans.

Some of it seems pretty legitimate to me. You'd be surprised to see how many people leak this sort of confidential information on sites like 4chan. Remember, it's completely anonymous. Maybe he was just really bored and felt like being rebellious.

Jet Set Radio rerelease has been a thing for a while. Sega just finished up a contest where you can get your graffiti in the game. Showed up with Skies and Shenmue in a rumor ages ago, with their rumor getting stronger because Jet Set turned out to be true.

As for all the other junk, take it with a bag of salt. Still, sometimes these things pan out.

Celebrities/important have popped up on 4chan before, but they usually have proof... And it's usually a once in a lifetime thing.

I don't consider Kotaku reliable, personally. It, along with the rest of the Gawker media sites seem to be just inundated with editor's personal picks and compilations of crap nobody would, or should care about.

LOL after reading through this.

MOST of this "news" are just things anyone that's been paying close attention to SEGA could put together that's been unconfirmed. Especially the dreamcast ports, Generation's DLC, PSO2, game's that won't be coming, and the changes to Sonic, one of the creators already said they wanted to make something similar to colors but do something "new" altogether while still keeping Sonic's modern appearance.

So basically by telling realistic fiction based off of things that have already been told to us or speculated from the obvious, this guy could get away with trolling by using the name "Segafag."

@ PeeJay, HD Jet set radio was confirmed a couple months ago by SEGA's own teaser.
