Maybe because you had to Die Cast the parts of the robot and they just shortened it to Cast. Plus Cast sounds more menacing than Robot or Android.

^lol I found that while googling it. Honestly I don't actually think that CAST is an acronym of sorts. Considering in Japanese it is always written キャスト instead of CAST, I am more apt to think that the capitalization was just a choice the translators made. That is just my two cents.
