I -think- there's an option for that in the quick menu.
If you mean the name above the players heads, yeah, it's possible to change it in the quick menu (middle mouse button), in the 3rd option if I'm not mistaken. There's a bunch of options there, including hiding the names, showing the names together with class and level, showing the names and an HP bar (useful for forces in multiparty areas), name and player ID, and so on.

No, it was there in CBT, too.
I used that option to set it to display character names and User IDs, but I didn't realize you could set it to turn everything off. Oh, well. I like playing with names and stuff on.
I'd prefer names for this, so that you know who is who.
Thinking back, I could have done something more amusing; like cosplaying as a certain someone while dancing.

lol, 0:20+^_^+i was walking down the street to go take care of business with my laptop closed (damn thing burning my arm)+^_^+ i went afk and started dancing, when i opened the lid i saw everyone dancing the same dance i picked but i was out of sync+^_^+ funny how i can start that but still get left out+^_^+
