so does anyone know if theres an eta or any updates on the english patch or if it will arrive today.

There's no ETA on the english patch. The original creators of the old patch still hasn't given an update, and the guy here who claims he cracked the encryption hasn't said a word since that one post.

If you seriously can't play without the patch, it might become problematic in the future. As others have said, it would only take one hefty patch from Sega to potentially cripple the patch again even if it did come out since we're still at the transitional/patching phase of the game "testing".

If Sega continually breaks the English patch, I'd probably stop playing. I'm holding off playing right now mostly due to the lag, but also because I'm hoping the patch will be done sometime in the near future. If that becomes impractical for the folks working on the patch to keep working on, I may just stop altogether until an official English version of the game is released.
