Cutscene related crash in Chapter 0 (tutorial mission)

Basically what's going on is that after the room where you get ambushed by several darker while you have that red haired guy on your party, my game crashes when the cutscene starts for that room.

Here's me right before I cross the edge to where to cutscene starts, hopefully this will better explain what room I'm in:

The game then goes black and minimizes itself the moment the cutscene starts and I'm left with this:

I've been through this 3 minutes of gameplay several times on different ships with no change in the appearance of the error.
I have tried turning down the shaders and the quality, I know that it is neither of those since I was in the closed beta and had no graphical issues whatsoever. Is anyone else having this problem? And is there a way for me to just skip this cutscene/chapter 0 altogether? Thank you for your time!

You can skip the cutscene by pressing ESC (or cancel on the pad), it will ask you if you want to skip it.

You might want to run a filecheck, 3rd button on the launcher. It takes a while to start up, but should finish quite fast after that.
