Id say dont get photon flare, personally I dont like it and I havent seen anyone in the community try to stick up for it either... I like freeze personally i think it is a great aid in battle by stopping enemies even if its for a just a second, there's more to it than it just being broken immediately. Its a shallow argument because there's a lot of situation and nuance that the broken immediately argument doesn't address. I don't want to get caught up on defending freeze tho. Bottom line for you should be : "Do you like freezing enemies"? Do you find it helpful and do you want it to happen more often? That should be your criteria for putting points into freeze boost. Freeze ignition is difficult to use but I have the opportunity to use it pretty often in parties because barta means that you can hit enemies that are close to you and far away from every one else, meaning that if one in front of you gets frozen you can immediately take it out.

Here are a couple builds that might work out well for you...

Pure damage or utility? Brute-force or finesse? Consider these dichotomies in relation to your play style and then how you build your skill tree.

I was curious as to whether or not anyone had considered building a FOrce with an emphasis on PP?

According to my calculations(which may or may not be accurate), the most PP you can possibly get with the current gear and abilities is 216 PP.

This would be nearly impossible to do. But if you can get ALL three of your armor pieces AND your weapon to have Mutation II, Spirit V, Spirit Boost, and a soul with 3 PP like a Rappy Soul, as well as maxing out PP Up 1 and PP Up 2 on your skill tree, one can bring their FOrce's PP up to a whopping 196.

Adding a Photon Drink EX to that would bring the total up to 216.

Your skill tree would look like a crappy mess(see below), but with PP Charge Revival, you'd be spamming stronger technics for a relatively long time. Of course, you'd be losing out on the T-ATK Up or Charged Tech Advance, but just think of how fun this kind of gameplay would be! It would likely be unexpected and astounding to your party members, no?

haha you really think dodo would let a weapon/unit with all those affixes on it just slide by?
Maybe we'll have a realistic way of getting that much in the future level cap; Sub Units with +10pp each plus a simple SpiritIII + Spirita Boost would be enough.

I wouldn't really consider it without at least 200pp... it's gotta be at least that much if i'm giving up everything else.

I recently did some tests with armor. As well as average damage over time. In one recharge/discharge cycle of tech and using Barta as a test spell and considering only one target. the numbers came out to be 260 Dmg/s with an increase of 21 pp vs 248 Dmg/S with an increase of 120 Tp. I think there are merrits to having either or, but in a pure sense (such as this test) there was little to no difference.

I agree. At least 200pp would make me consider this more seriously.

I use a gunslash the majority of the time I play and it's made me realize how easy it's been having PP available so I can spam PAs. I mean, with a gunslash, you can make up for lost PP really really quickly in gun mode. And I thought that crushing mobs would be equally as easy with a FOrce that can just comfortably spam Technics. They just need all that PP for endurance.

A few of those Build I like. Shame I can't buy a skill tree and test out the 3 I like.

Correct me if I misunderstood you, but are you casting techs with your gunslash equipped? If so, that is horrible. You can switch to your rod in one second, and get that second back plus more because you will kill the enemies much faster that way. It will also cost less PP, since you can kill enemies in fewer casts.

Is it difficult to change weapons? I don't know what control method you use or how you have your controls set up, but maybe consider changing them to allow you change weapons more easily.

If you insist on using one weapon all the time and never changing weapons, consider a talis. That would probably be superior to gunslash.

Talis is both inferior and superior. a talis isnt so much as a ranged weapon as it is a defensive casting tool. You can throw out a card and cast from that location. this is extremely good for gi spells and also support. As far as PP regen goes switching to a gunslash in gun mode is much better than using a talis.
As far as controls: if youre using a keyboard and mouse then you can use the number pad to switch weapons(1-6). The game recognizes it as a separate input from the numbers grouped above the letters.

Yeah, gunblade is an amazing PP-recovery tool. I've said it before: switch to gunblade, do a full jump and JAs ahoy. You'll most likely recover 100 PP before hitting the ground.
