Does Sword Gear affect Over End in any way?

Some have said it gets a larger range and more damage. I have tested and confirmed damage is unchanged. I did not do crits, but I can safely say that 73k with 0 gear and 72k with full gear on WB'd falz hands means no damage bonus.

Not incredibly noticeable. Sword and Wired Lance are a tad bit faster, PP regen is a tad bit better for all weapons, Gear gauge on Sword and Wired Lance go up a tad bit fater, that's all really. Still have to do 3 sword swings to get enough PP for another Sonic Arrow. It just sucks even more now since 2 swings leaves you at like 28 PP rather than 20 aka SEGA trolling us or something.

Why is my brain so full of fuck? Because I am so sad now everytime I do two swings of my sword and then try and do Sonic Arrow but see my PP is only at 28 instead of 30. Before patch I wouldn't have cared since I'd only be at like 20, but now it's just like, *sigh.

Try a kagutachi with level 1 latent, I guess that would be the difference.

Also, the new hunter changes fixed a problem that wasn't really urgent at all. I don't think anyone that's played hunter more than a month still says that "sword is too slow." By that point we've all gotten the gear and seen it's not even remotely as slow as we first though. Still, melee had PP issues, I just wish they addressed them with something better like a PP reduction skill for PA's.

This change also does not benefit gunslashes at all, leaving specced rangers (and I guess specced forces?) at a clear advantage for that. It's a bandaid fix, but a welcome one. Fighters still need similar PP siphoning changes for everything but double sabers, but that may be next on the list.

Stupid question, though: It's been a LONG time since I've used wired lances this much. Have the normal attacks always been guard cancelable? Because I seem to recall having issues with using the second normal hit and being stuck in the animation while wanting to guard, but now I can guard during it and it is freaking awesome.

Hey guys, been awhile. Got a few questions and would love a few good responses and as much opinions as I can gather. I did leave the game for a few months, but I've came back.

I finally bought some AC with the intention of buying a new skill tree because my first is all over the place because I wanted to test so much out. I know there was videos showing me these things, but I wanted to have a feel for it. Needless to say I've wasted about 16 SP trying out a variety of things. So with that said, I didn't really like Fury stance, yet all or most of you seem to love it, I felt really squishy and when doing long sword PAs I took a lot of damage on board. Guard stance was ok, but rather underwhelming and unnecessary.

    So finally:

Is Fury stance in the majorities opinion something you need as a hunter?
Should I get all the gears despite only really using Sword(my favourite weapon)?
Is HP > DEF by a far and wide margin?
What's the majorities opinion on a a close to 'perfect' skill tree for hunter?
I've subclassed as a fighter to buff my main stats, was this wise?
I've ended up going for Wise on fighter, but I can't help shake that brave seems better.
What weapon/PA combo is currently putting in a lot work? Obviously it'll change based on the battle and situation, but for the most part. I usually prioritize range, then speed, then strength.
I have 57 SP on Hunter to spend and 16 on fighter

    Thanks for your inputs

This should answer a few of those questions:

    Just Guard
    Just Reversal
    Optional, based on weapon preference:
    Wired Lance Gear
    Partisan Gear
    Optional, based on general preference:
    Fury Stance 10

Must-haves for fighter (unless a specialist tree, obviously):
    All 3 gears
    Both Stances to 5
    Both Stance Ups to 10
    Optional, based on general preference:
Stances to 10 (only 5% for 5 SP in each skill)
    Chase Advance
    Chase Bind 1
    Chase Bind 10

Chase Bind is either done to 1 or 10, no in between. The proc rate for each level is as follows:
    20 22 24 26 28 30 36 42 54 70
That is a gain of, per level...
    20 2 2 2 2 2 6 6 12 16
    Seriously. All or just 1.

I find Chase Bind extremely useful, especially in AQ's on large annoying targets such as rongos and the Wonda Twins. With Chase Bind 10, using a weapon with SE III, I very frequently bind a target with literally the exact same single-hit attack that inflicted the SE. If one strike inflicts an SE, 70% of the time it gets both. Failing that, the next one probably does. With a good active FO or two around, well...I don't even need to apply my own SE anymore.

    Hu/fi are awesome together. If I'm meleeing and I'm not fi/hu, I'm hu/fi.
