Crafting becomes purely RNG when you're going for those Great Success achievements, though. >_<

Not when you're simply going for unlocking everything. Also, Great Success is mainly useful for Techs and somewhat for Timed Abilities. For units and weapons, you have items to get around the requirements and class limitations.

Let's live in a magical world where you don't fail once at grinding 8 ★13 weapons:

196 000 * 40 * 8 = 62 720 000

Now let's come back to reality. Say with wasted cash on grinds fails and grind drops and add grind costs, that would round it up at let's say 70 000 000.

Now for Tech crafting, let's say you do your Free Daily Craftings for 1 year, ya I think it would cost you less than 70 000 000 to craft the difference.

Of course you don't try to do this in a matter of weeks, I doubt the OP did that, probably took a him while. I've completely forgot about the existence of Daily Crafts until a few weeks ago. I've already unlocked a bunch of stuff since then.

True, but a lot of those great success achievements are already adding up from early on, so by the time you need to move, you're pretty damn close if it's not already completed. Plus, I can't speak for everyone, but just having a Lv4 Tech Craft machine in my room got me a lot of great successes.

Clearly you don't craft, because that isn't true, at all.

You serious? Dude, I can craft any ★10 Tech weapons to ExLv11 and any units to R-Def Special Lv8. Next stop is ★11 Tech Weapons ExLv9. As for Techs, I don't know, I'd have to check since I had mine crafted by someone else long before I stated doing that myself, so I don't pay attention to my stats on those much.
