Thread: Anti-aliasing

    Default Anti-aliasing

Is there a way to force better AA onto this game? The one that comes with the game doesn't do a very good job at removing all of the "jaggies" in the game.

I've tried forcing higher lvl's of AA with the Nvidia control panel but it doesn't seem to work at all. The game wont accept them.

Any tips would be appreciated ^-^

This would be better suited for the tech support forum.

I've played around with the Nvidia control panel and haven't seen any discernible change, either. Are you setting it just for pso2.exe or are you setting it at a system level?

You have to use Nvidia Inspector. (Google it.)

You must use Nvidia Inspector to change the anti-aliasing compatibility bits for the Phantasy Star Online 2 profile to "Diablo 3" (yes, weird, I know), and then manually set the anti-aliasing settings from there.

Also, FXAA should work in addition to this. It won't show up in screenshots, however.

Use Nvidia Inspector in stead of the Nvidia control panel

Gameguard masks/hides the games process, making it impossible for the Nvidia control panel to see that the game is running and apply the settings you want. Another shitty side effect of using GameGuard.

I've made settings for every single PSO2 executable in the folder, not a single change.

Outside of maybe some specific optional Nvidia tool that you would have to download, I'm not sure how to get it working.

Its possible if you set the global default settings (which it will run all the time, game running or not) you might see results, though even that might not work.

They really just need to ditch GameGuard and learn how to properly secure their games

Edit: Yeah try inspector, that might do it

Please ignore Gamer-X, Gameguard has nothing to do with it. Different games require different compatibility bits for anti-aliasing - it just so happens that Nvidia has not yet created one for PSO2, so you have to work around it (by using the Diablo 3 bits).

Yes, i've tried it both way's. I've tried forcing better AA through "global settings" and making a PSO2 profile. None have worked for me.

However I will download Nvidia Inspector and give what Zyrusticae said a shot

Which GPU are you using, and what's your rig, as I have 3 profile for PSO2 for Nvidia Inspector.

Any solutions for an AMD card? AMD Radeon HD 6870, to be exact.

I've downloaded Nvidia Inspector, but i'm kinda lost at the part where I have to change the bits.

When I click on "Anti-aliasing compability" the drop down menu doesn't have "Diablo 3" in it.
