Again, not being as terrible doesn't make it good. High-end upgrading is ridiculously unforgiving in this game, whether the thing is destroyed during one of the many, many fails or not.
Hell, it would almost be a relief to have the thing explode at times; at least then the waste of time, money, and patience would end.
Of course, one would also get that if it just fucking worked, but that's a lot to ask for ol' Doo-doo most days.
Just wait until 15-Star items come out, then see how much you'll love Doodoo compared to now

I'll just continue to collect symbol arts I see of him. the Japanese really seem to hate him as well xD.
but he is the reason why I almost never touch rare weapons unless I really really really want some more atk power.
the one time I did try to upgrade one I kicked myself for it for blowing away so much money on a minor gain.
Holy god! OUCH! I don't hate him per say, in that I caught on quickly that he's a complete dick when it comes to attributes and completely gave up on trying at all. Grinding seems to work, but I think grinding is a better thought out system. honestly, for attributes there is no reason that all of those should fail; plus the fact that you loose all of your fodder and end up with a gimped weapon is really stupid. I'm sitting back and waiting until they revamp it in a future update.Spoiler!

I had a few problems with him at first, but I upgraded the last 3 units and 3 weapons to +10 without a single fail
