I felt that way about the first one.

It's more about figuring out the pattern of hunting and such. They really help you out a lot in this game compared to previous games. There's even a built-in Combo shortcut so you can go ahead and try combinations of stuff to create new compounds or materials.

Monster Hunter is just as much about foraging, gathering, and crafting materials, weapons, and armors, as it is in hunting the behemoths.

It is a love it or hate it game, but more often it is a game many in the "hate it" category just didn't understand yet, but could switch categories when things "click". It's much faster in a group or with somebody else to give you a quite tutorial of how things work. Something that can save one months of time trying to figure it out themselves.

As much as I don't like that there is no online for the 3DS version, I am really enjoying the game. Just have to be more careful for the "online" quests for me to solo them. Though that Lacombi quest was probably too easy thanks to the demo.

I have never been that good at MH, but i still enjoy it.
Like everyone else say, take your time to learn the pattern and use the weapon you feel most comfortable using...i just love the Long Sword myself though.

Also, bombing is pretty devastating as well.
I learned that whenever i watched my big bro play.

Yeah, i just love that MH is the only game i really share a common interest with bro and little sister. We only have the 3DS versions so i donīt have much choice anyway, haha.
