    Default Status Effect Affixes

    Source: http://pso2.swiki.jp/index.php?%E7%8...A4%89%E5%8C%96

    Before we start, here's the number one thing to mention:

    Higher Level affix DOES NOT mean higher proc rate. This means Level 5 Poison will proc AS MUCH AS Level 1 Poison.

    If you're simply after causing Status Effects for the sake of Chase Advance, do not go above level 1, it will save you a lot of grief. For example, if you are attacking a Gilnach, you have 2% chance to land any applicable SE, no matter the level of your Status Effect.

    So, what does higher level affix actually do?

    Increasing the affix level on your weapons increases the effect of the Status Effect. This can mean increased duration, or increased damage, or other various effects.

    Status Effect Stacking

    An interesting mechanic is that you can increase the level of a Status Effect on an enemy by applying it more than once. As an example:

    Level 1 Burn -> Level 1 Burn = Level 2 Burn
    Level 1 Burn -> Level 3 Burn = Level 2 Burn
    Level 2 Burn -> Level 1 Burn = Level 3 Burn

    The timer will start again with its higher level. Useful for weapons with many hits. Please note that levels can only increase by 1 (I think).

    Status Effects on Bosses

    Many Status Effects can be applied to various bosses. These will either be treated as a normal status effects (for minibosses), or cause a special effect. Please note that bosses improve their resistance

    Burn works on:

    Gwanada (グワナーダ)
    Rockbear (ロックベア)
    De Malmoth (デ・マルモス)
    Banshee/Banther Series (バンシー/バンサーシリーズ) - Special Effect; if inflicted with Burn, the enemy will flail on the ground for a number of seconds, allowing you to attack them without risk. For the Fang series, they can be knocked out of the tree.

    Freeze works on:

    Caterdran (キャタドラン)
    Caterdransa (キャタドランサ)
    Caterdraal (カタドラール)
    Vol Dragon (ヴォル・ドラゴン) - Special Effect; Freeze can only apply to Vol Dragon's legs. If Frozen, he will be immobile for a few seconds, allowing you to attack him without risk.

    Shock works on:

    Wolgahda (ウォルガーダ)
    Falz Arm (ファルス・アーム) - Special Effect; The arm will be stunned for a couple of seconds, and sit back on the floor slightly.
    Dark Falz Elder (ダークファルス・エルダー) - Special Effect; Falz will drop all his arms, including his upper arms, allowing the player to break them easily.

    Mirage works on:

    Rockbear (ロックベア)
    De Malmoth (デ・マルモス)
    Caterdran (キャタドラン)
    Tranmizer (トランマイザー)

    Panic works on:

    Gwanahda (グワナーダ)
    Wolgahda (ウォルガーダ)
    De Malmoth (デ・マルモス)

    Poison works on:

    Caterdran (キャタドラン)
    Caterdransa (キャタドランサ)
    Quartz Dragon (クォーツ・ドラゴン) - Special Effect; When applied to one of Quartz' parts, the part will take double damage (citation needed on double) for several seconds.
    Dragon Ex (ドラゴン・エクス) - Special Effect; When applied to one of Ex' parts, the part will take double damage (citation needed on double) for several seconds.

    ---

    There are some bosses which can take extra SEs, but they do absolutely nothing, such as shock on Dark Ragne and Crys Draal, although they will be inflicted.

    Poison also works on Goranzoran's 4 poles that keep his barrier up. The poison on Quartz, EX, and Goranzoran's poles do seem to be a straight x2 damage multiplier.

    It should also be noted that affix rates on SEs don't get boosted my souls until level 3. So while it may be just as well to have shock 1 on a weapon for chase advance it may still end up being easier to get shock III on there depending on what you have.

    so I guess the real question (which is answered indirectly in the OP) is which SEs are the best to affix? Burn and Poison for sure, but after that you have shock mirage and panic to consider as well. Considering chase advance it seems like Mirage may be the next best and then Panic with Shock being the absolute last since it affects so few enemies.

    Yeah, Shock only affects Dark Falz. Who needs THAT?
    Also, I think Mutation boosts the SE affixes for lv1 and 2 - I'm quite sure I read something to that extent in the wiki.

    Shock V would give him a longer flinch animation I guess. Not 44s (heck, he never fell for 30s, maybe 10 or so) but maybe 15s instead of 10s? That helps a lot with destroying the arms.

    Boss SEs are not the same as the standard effect.

    Bansher doesn't take damage from Burn, Vol's freeze cannot be broken by attacks, and none of them count towards Chase Advance.

    I doubt anything but infliction rate changes anything about these special effects.
