My apologies, I'm still a little confused. Could I use an example to check whether I'd be doing the right thing or not? (to avoid re-downloading the whole story patch):
1. DL story patch via tweaker
2. Make a backup of files when prompted
3. NEXT STORY UPDATE: Allow the game to patch as normal via tweaker, and tweaker will automatically restore JP files before patching to avoid re-downloading all the JP story files.
4. Click the "restore backup" of the English story patch option to re-add the backed up English story files.
5. Update the story via tweaker?
Is this correct?
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for your help.
Almost 10 years later. Still forever sleep deprived.
So i remembered my Thread, and i just didn't want to continue there anymore, its massively ignored.
I talked to Nanbo and recieved a lot of help from him, thankfully. Great guy, love him and he deserves the utter respect for all he's done for me and many others.
But regardless, his methods would never solve and were too risky or/and unneccessary, cause apparently...
PSO2 RUNS FOR ME! It just...won't appear on my Screen. I digged deeper to figure out WHAT happened to it and what actually may caused it. So it may be relative to "Black Screen Issues" people recieved a few times, or may not. I don't know and i can't say for sure, as i need proper proof that it perhaps is or not to pass that confirmation.
I'm still on the case to solve this problem, slowly but surely, as it frustrates me beyond imagination, and i don't have the energy to get depressed and frustrated over it a lot. Taking daily rests from this. Any help and/or information regarding my problem would be appreciated.
I'll be sitting on Skype as always, nonethenless. Current Status of me is playing some Mass Effect 3 for old times sake, to pass some frustration over my problem.
I envy but congratulate anyone who's solved their problem, and hope you enjoy PSO2! I'll be checking on here at a regular basis to see if someone answered me or status of this thread.
Thank you for reading and taking time! Be well and strong!
You'll find me in Ship 10. Accidently not joining Ship 2, for reasons of personal information.

Quick -likely dumb- question...
When did the Tweaker start caring what name is assigned to the Story Patch rar file?
I ask because since January I've been renaming them to "Story Patch YYYY-MM-DD.rar" for file sorting purposes and it's had no troubles at all. I kept doing it out of habit even after I got rid of the December files. However in March it started caring. I was thinking something was wrong with my installation. I've re-downloaded the Story Patch about 4-6 times. The behaviour was the same on my Vista box and my Win7 box. Thus it was only on a lark that I tried I changing it to the name it would have fresh from download. WHOOSH it's happy again. That was all I needed to do different. It's updated to 4-16 now yay!
If I'm crazy, that's perfectly fine. I just never would have guessed it was the file name...

Sometimes Helps with Tech Support During Defrags...
I still cannot install patches through Tweaker; Trying to do so fails, every time, even though I selected the proper bin folder.
Tweaker is still in it's own folder.
Does the item patch work with the newest PSO2 version?: Yes
All done - System ready!
Waiting for patch to finish extracting...
Extracting to C:\Program Files\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\data\win32 [OK!]
Patch failed to extract correctly! Installation failed!
Well it was already doing those fine, just March was some different change. I'd just thought it was doing an MD5 on the file itself, and since it didn't penalyze me until march I didn't think anything of it.
Of course there seem to be much less need to keep up to 3 versions back around -ya progress- and it's deep into 2014 so the issue with the file sorting is dead and gone.
Until 2015 X.x *shoves his OCD in a box*
In any event thank you for answering ^-^v

Sometimes Helps with Tech Support During Defrags...
I'm posting this in the hopes that someone here might have an idea as to what's going on with Tweaker.
Everytime I try to start Tweaker I end up getting "PSO2 Tweaker has stopped working"
This is under "View problem details" http://pastebin.com/qRwXxg5p
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all my .net frameworks and my current OS is Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit).
Any help would be appreciated.
i need help -.- everything i startz this tweaker he say " a new pso2 update available " the problem is, i have instlled pso2 und updated it finish with the pso2 launcher so no new update can available it.... and when i click to "yes update" the tweaker run run run and checking files.. soo... not really work ..... and my client is up2date so why tweaker says new pso2 update when it false... and i downloaded tweaker new pso2 and new installed it once...
I think I've figured out why I couldn't install patches via Tweaker.
Whenever that "install as which user" thing popped up, I just hit 'okay' because it already selected mine, and my profile is the system admin.
What I didn't do is untick "protect my computer from unauthorized access", which says it "can help protect your PC from viruses and unwanted changes." That is probably what was blocking Tweaker from modifying anything in C:\.
If that wasn't it, then it's because I redownloaded Tweaker, but I doubt it's that because I tried that before.
Either way, now I can use the story patch. Woo.
