Looking for the end all braver build

Let's settle the arguments and go pure math here, since I'm crappy at theorycrafting, I'd like to get the people that know theory crafting in here in a civil discussion about braver builds.

There is no one end all be all braver build. You pick something you want to do, and optimize yourself for it.

Katana Combat is a waste of time. With enough power you'll kill everything far quicker with Kanran and Sakura, or the allclass Hunter weapons, than using Finish. Finish is also a waste of time for bosses, because Bow outputs FAR more DPS than Finish can ever hope to achieve on single targets, because unlike Finish, bow isn't restricted to attacking once every 90s, with a 20s "charge-up" (something like doing more damage or hits during combat increases the Finish damage), and is able to boost its damage by 15% with Rapid Shoot, also helping its PP restoration greatly.

Max out Average Stance for maximum damage on the field with melee (you WILL need it for playing Advanced, please ignore the other thread), and Weak Stance when using Gunslash for mobbing or attacking bosses with bow.

For mag, take pure s-atk and r-atk, and switch as required. Bow is only really used for bosses, so it's easy enough to switch. Otherwise you want to be using Katana / Partisan / Sword / Wired Lance and maybe Gunslash I guess.

Hunter tree doesn't have any gears, but take points out of JA if you want anything like Reversal or Gears.

Katana Combat is a waste of time.

Instantly clearing out tons of enemies(this is especially amazing in advanced quests), and being able to burst a bosses weak point for 150k+ is waaay too good, as well as great mobility to stay on a boss in the air(like zeshy's face or ragne's weak point) and the huge single target DPS/AOE boost you gain just from the super quick auto-attacks and 20% dmg bonus to JA's.

This is also untrue because bows autoattack is too weak and slow. Katana's autoattack is incredible which makes it still do great damage when gaining back PP.

The bow is definitely slow, but its PAs all hit like trucks, far beyond anything the katana can do. What makes you think the katana comes out ahead?

KC is only bad if you're bad at using it or if you're lazy.

Bows do hit like a truck though but you still gotta charge for em, both have drawbacks to them one is only better than the other if you pure spec for it anyway.

Either one can come out on top there is no right or wrong way to build a class only your way.

There can't be a best Braver build. There isn't enough damage in the tree to stay effective when split between katana and bows. Honestly there isn't even enough damage when going wholly into a single weapon type.

Katana Combat is great for a katana main. Rapid Shoot is great for a bow main. But I can see how getting both lowers your efficiency overall, as that is a lot of SP that simply does not help you at all when they're on cooldown.

Jesus christ this post better be sarcastic. You've just made Braver the most generic, boring unfun class i've ever seen. This isn't world of warcraft who cares about MAX DPS OMWAHGAHD. I'm sorry but play another class.

to OP: put points into what YOU think is good. individuality is better and more fun. forget about DPS, you can't go too wrong aslong as you max one of the stances.
