I would like to see them focus on something like damage over time with bleed effects, just to make them different from others.
If nothing else, please bring back Assault Crush from PSU. One of my absolute favorite Photon Arts ever, next to Anga Dugrega.

Assassin Cross is a pair of wired lance katars.
If I had to design something for the braver class, I'd make sure you actually have to be brave with it. Something you have to massively spam straight in the front lines where at least half of the PAs worked like Ride Slasher and Guilty Break (without the charge time). A leg-based weapon sounds ideal for this since it's the only thing not covered yet, but it doesn't seem to fall in line with the Braver's japanese warrior design. If anything, partisans would.
I'd give the new weapon the following PAs:
- Slide Shaker lookalike
- no-charge Guilty Break speed PA (not considering Asagiri Rendan because it's quite slow with it's charge-in)
- Ride Slasher function PA (Travel through multiple enemies over some distance at an average speed)
- Heel Stab animation with Quake Howling function
- Acro Effect Somersaulting
- Orchestra-style Combo PA
