That is the Profound Darkness only Stone.

黒曜片ネロウ can drop from the Profound Darkness EQ as well, but the Falz Bosses and their normal Forms can drop them too (not sure about [Persona] though, as i've never seen it drop any.)

I just looked it up on the swiki, and apparently techs like Safoie or Gibarta work for mid-range.

I was told to never use Gal Rod for Fire. Ice or Dark are the better choice.

Don't know about Elder and Loser but I know PD is affected by it.

If you have a full party that can sustain PSEs you can actually stay at VH til 75.
