New major emergencies:
-Profound Darkness (ep 3 end boss, xh fight was updated during episode 4)
-Mining Base Demise (td4, ep 3 epilogue)
-Yamato/Prestige of Steel (ep 4 starter emergency)
-Several past scheduled only emergencies also now can appear unscheduled (ex. magatsu)
Equipment:
-Collection Files (defeat respective targets, a guaranteed method of obtaining drops as opposed to relying on rng for drops or hoarding stones)
-Related, guest npcs (at the moment, ethan, karen, cats and nezumi) more recently all have CO's with 13* rewards much like collection files with cooldown. So another method of working towards drops.
-New Type (NT) weapons introduced, whereas old type weapons were grinded with luck NT is more simple and tends to be cheaper. Follows a mobile game type leveling system as opposed to rng
-Skill Rings introduced and by proxy gathering. Skill rings give additional abilities, persons are able to equip one left and one right ring. Left rings generally give additional passive abilities (ex. start of tech charging also applies a just guard window) while right rings generally give class skills (ex. pp convert from techer tree) if not of that class
-Gathering primarily to get ores and gems to make and level skill rings. Extremely basic, consists of fishing and mining
Clothing:
-Layer wear introduced, separated into three parts: over wear, base wear and inner wear. Over wear are like costumes and are equipped in costume slot, inner wear and base wear are like body paints and are tickets to be used. Outfit is a combination of the three.
-All newly scratched costumes and over wear come with a one time star gem (sg) gauge, after wearing the outfit for a little less than a day (counts even if offline) awards 2 sg.
-On assorted changes, accessories now rotatable/stretchable, additional body paint slot, additional body options, have access to character storage in dressing room, etc.
Star Gems:
-New form of currency, can be used for a few things but not really notable otherwise.
-Notable uses are being spent to buy emergency triggers, (like boss triggers force a boss, emergency triggers opens up an emergency quest) reseting gathering cooldown times, reseting collection file cooldown times, playing sg scratch. SG scratch is like other scratches, catalogue consists of old episode villain goods (costumes, voices, etc) and is running till the end of the year which'll likely be replaced with new villain goods. Also note that Shirona's (emergency trigger and other goods) inventory is randomized per day.
-Can be gained through clothing usage, ARKS league (large amounts from these, much like time attack events but constricted to 20 player groups) , daily rewards, random hand outs, casino weekly limited, buying with real money.
New Areas/Quests:
-Do not remember if harukotan (black kingdom area) was already added to game at time, that's there
-Similarly challenge quest 2/decision added, if not already around back then
-Tokyo, Las Vegas
-FF14 collab quest is gone, but odin boss will still appear randomly ala magi knight or nx cougar and is also a possible parallel area fight
-New quest type more recently in regards to vegas, riding quests
-Added harukotan, traces of darkness (hunar type falz boss brigade) and tokyo time attacks
-Daily quests are picked from free field and two arks quests each day, plus level up quest. First completion of each quest with rank A or S nets a random reward. (Ex. a photon drop or a casino coin pass) Notable reward are gold and silver quest tickets.
-Bonus quests are solo quests that consume said gold and silver quest tickets. Specific ticket for specific quest. Noted as "free level ups" for easy exp, enemies with lowered hp and is scaled to current level.
Story:
-As stated, episode 3 concluded. New characters must now play through episodes 1-2 before unlocking episode 3 much like episode 2 was unavailable for new characters during episode 3
-Episode 4 planet: future (hardly) earth
-Episode 4 story accessible and progressed in new separate bridge area, behind where Joseph/adam jensen used to be standing
-While working on episode 4, (in the bridge) episode 1-3 (and matter boards) are unaccessible and vice versa if working on episode 1-3
-Matters boards removed for episode 4, replaced with much simpler story board which consists of viewing cutscenes/playing story quests, green spaces require something to be done and are not of great number (ex. cleared forest free field)
-Episode 4 currently on chapter 5
-Vaguely related, Zieg has camos to trade in for passes gotten from title counter for those who completed episodes 1-3
-Vaguely related, an anime was released and finished that supposedly takes place inbetween episode 3 and 4
Summoner:
-New class, weapons are pets, has access to techs and works with any of the three stat types
-Pets are grinded by feeding other pet eggs ala mags, max level is determined by rarity (which can be increased by finding higher rarity copy of same pet)
-Candy box is essential (ala max elementing/unlocking potentials/affixing normal weapons) for pets whereas candy are "equipped" (tends to be one way but not completely, may take some planning or copying) onto pets
-Currently has an assortment of 7 different pets
Other Assorted Changes:
-Game now has a t6 graphic setting (before 1-5, one being most basic and 5 being the prettiest) and additional related options
-PS4 version released
-Three button mode released, can fit 6 different actions ala PSO as opposed to 2 sets of 3 actions on a combo system ala dynasty warriors
-Character specific storages added and has 300 slots per character
-Character max inventory (AC shop inventory expansion) increased to 150, bulk increases were removed
-Free third character "slot" (if have less than 3 characters, can make another freely)
-Casino now has new game akuma slots, high cost/potential payout, but many failure screens
-AC scratches now have untradable rewards for scratching number of times
-Is 2016, 2016 badges drop now and 2015 badges no longer available (but shop still is)
-Some npcs moved around to make room for new npcs, (ex pet lab where tekker used to be) new cafe area added primarily related to gathering and rings
-New normal stuff ala collabs/costumes/enemies/bosses/PA customizations/few skills/la's/affixes/etc
-Many small changes such as multiple item recycling
-Ep 4 songs all vocal themes (by proxy expecting an once again vocal rendition of The Whole New World)
