To elaborate a bit more, the slots are permanently unlocked once you buy them. Would have been nicer if they were a bit cheaper but it's still worth it.

It doesn't hurt to at least get one of the extra slots if you can afford it.

That ring requires the Sanctum gem.
To increase gem rate, you need to use Quarry Grilled Eel (Quarry Eel, Desert Pepper, Forest Rice) or Quarry Shark Soup (Quarry Shark, Desert Flying Fish*, Tokyo Tai Fish*).

*Not sure if these are their names with the item patch.

I'm assuming you're logging into ES when it's not updated and its telling you to go to google play to update (which of course you can't because region lock)

Update ES through tweaker and it should go away
