First, just so you are aware as you look around, the more common name you'll see in discussion for "Abilities" is "Affixes."
Here's the short of the long of it:, Affixing is how you add extra stats on Weapons and Units; you can either transfer these directly from other Units/Weapons, with exceptions, or synthesize them by combining other affixes. This guide is a bit outdated in terms of some additional affixes and systems (ie. SAFs and SSAs) that have been released since then, but the basic information in it is a good starting point.

Is Hybrid BrHu (Katana + Bow) still viable, like back in the "old days"?
Or is the meta Average + Weak Stance pure-Katana BrHu these days?
I haven't touched Br in a long-long while...
lv 85 skill has ability to make katana gear useable on bow so i think it is a yes for bow
there is very few reasons to take a real hybrid tree for brhu these days with both weapons. no content demands being able to do high damage with bow for extended periods of time, even endless quest. i'd recommend dual stance katana.
