Laptop over Craptop

Howdy

I may or may not have to buy a Windows Laptop for work purposes. I am mainly Linux on the workstation, but have been using a Macbook Pro for the last few years as I'm on the road a lot, and it being Unix has always been worth the dough for me. I'm playing PSO2 now using Bootcamp on said laptop. It plays fine on the laptop itself. Outputting full resolution through Thunderbolt can give "interesting" (shitty) results.

If I had to go the laptop route, what would be advisable to get relatively good (60 FPS) results? I definitely like real computers over laptops, but portability will be the main issue here... not PSO2 (unfortunately).

Depends on how much of you budget you want to spend on one, there is plenty of offers online if you plan to get a better deal on one, sometimes your local store might have some decent laptops, also recommend getting one with a discrete (standalone) graphics card so your computer has full use of the ram for the OS itself.

Let's assume I have no budget... I've not priced a laptop in ages... definitely not a Windows one. If I buy it locally in Japan, the prices are almost in concrete. There is very little deviation from retail here, in just about every product line. Buying something barely used is where you save dough (and I'm not exactly against that in this case). I just don't really keep up w/ graphics cards. Honestly, most of my games knowledge is in old arcade games. The only stand alone graphics card I own outputs in 240p. I bet most people here can't even fathom that.
