On SH, they rush you at an insane speed shortly after they spawn and will attack you straight out of the dash with no delay whatsoever, unlike virtually every other enemy in the game. They don't waste time pacing in circles around you or staring at you, and will be on you constantly, barring a few odd instances where they won't use their super speed and just walk after you instead.
I've since learned the best way of dealing with is to try to kill them while they're still finishing their spawn animation, since they're a pain to stop once they get going.
