Using atra talis with rod s4 and epd makes force so much more enjoyable to play.

it does, rainbow Rod/Talis is great, less gear to bring with you and convenience

So maybe someone can help me out here. Swiki updated their Flame Tech DPS chart with Photon Flare Rod SC numbers but there is something I don't get.
When calculating DPS they go "Power / Charge Time * 60 Frames = DPS" so Foie for example is 718 / 60 * 60 = 718, which makes sense.
But for Rod SC they went with 718 / 42 * 60 = 1025 and I have no idea where they got the 42 from. Photon Flare Rod SC reduces charge time by 60% so shouldn't it be 24 charge duration rather than 42?

you're forgetting there is charge + cast time (0.5s or 30f)

foie with flame tech - 0.5s charge + 0.5s cast (30f + 30f = 60f)
foie with flame + flare - 0.5s*(1 - 0.6) charge + 0.5s cast (12f + 30f = 42f)

i wouldn't bother, atra is quite good. one option you do have though is to make EPD and turn your atra into photon flare cd stick (the talis s4).

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess I'm off to fully grind my Motav and play around with it today.
