As for your other question, I imagine there must be miles and miles of sub-surface tunnels on every colony ship. If you look at a picture of a colony ship, the city is only a small portion of it. So what's in the rest of it? It's not that far-fetched to imagine there might be a few unused tunnels here and there. Think of it like a real city--due to construction or various reasons, certain areas may get sealed off. For example, I once read an article about London's long-forgotten subway stations.

Feoh, where this story takes place, is Colony Ship 01. The first in the fleet. That's why I imagined it's home to "old money"--wealthy families who own large portions of land. There's still the same urban layout, but some of those families have bought up tracts and carved out their own little estates within the city.

About the Darker, I left its type vague on purpose. Seemed scarier if you let your imagination run wild. Can't be a Metos though, since their armor is impervious to normal bullets.

@everyone: As you may have noticed, PSOW got an upgrade recently! One change is that embedded videos are bigger than they were before. Like, a LOT bigger. I know I asked this question before, but I wanted to ask again: Would people prefer if I just used links for songs instead of posting the videos? When reading my latest chapter, did you feel the videos were obtrusive in any way? Or did you not care? Keep in mind, a few chapters may have up to 6 or 7 songs.

I'm willing to go with whatever everyone else prefers. If you feel the videos are in the way, I can put links instead. If you don't care or like the visual flourish of the videos, I'll leave it the way it is. Either way, please let me know!

The larger videos don't shake up the format too much, but they are kind of more distracting. But if you focus on the story the videos shouldn't be a problem. Unless there's something moving in them or something. Would be the only thing I would worry about.

By the way, the staff have come out with a Cosmic Fluid theme that does not have a fixed-width frame, and it fixes a few of the problems you were worried about. I think it's still kinda in beta but you can select it and I really like how it looks.

I've been using Cosmic (Fluid) too and like it so far. Format-wise, my story definitely works better with it (or any theme that isn't the original Cosmic).

I love this format. It's a nice change of pace from most story-telling formats while still giving us all the detail we need. I wanted to ask if I should know who the narrator was, but the following comments answered that for me.
You got into his head pretty well, though he was a bit gruff for someone that young. It wouldn't have been as fun if he wasn't, though.
