Sure, there are other trailers/commercials that show what the game has to offer, but there is always an emphasis on the scantily-clad women and dressing up (as shown in that commercial that was posted) that Sega seems to push as a main selling point for the game. As when it was first released, they made a HUGE deal out of a boob slider. :-/
There's no "direction" the game was always like this. The boob slider ad you're mentioning is an example of that. There are separate teams for combat and design, so it's not like they're doing one thing instead of the other. The game's currently quite stale, but that is dumb design decisions and not because bewbs.

And I do avoid the costumes and accessories because I use a male character.
But you're right, naked women are never a bad thing. I just hate how it seems to be the game's focus. I wish they'd but that much emphasis on other things ya know?
I like PSO2 and just want it to be taken seriously. I've been noticing it's pretty much got a reputation of just being a "Waifu Sim" along with other not so flattering descriptions.
I agree to some extent. Blame the player and not the game. Sega gave players the tools and freedom, if people are making prostitutes out of their characters it's none of my business, but theirs, it doesn't make difference on my game at all.

I don't care if people refer to this as a waifu simulator, I know what I play and like, don't care about others opinions on it.

Yeah the graphics flaws are jarring. And yet graphics are getting worse. The survey is right there, time to whine about graphics upgrades.

Hm, I am trying to find the comments that screamed sexism, but for some weird reason I can't find them. Guess my "me manhood is endangered because of ze feminizm" senses aren't tingling as hard as yours.

    Anyway,

it has nothing to do with feminism, it has to do with the fact, that advertising your game based on a boring ass boob slider and wow look our females are half naked is just sad. Not only is that mechanic nothing new or fancy, but PSO2's character creator is already becoming quite outdated and is nothing to brag about anymore (nor is having half naked outfits).

Besides that, it's just sad to see this game fall more and more into the dress up simulator genre (especially after knowing and feeling what potential this game could have had, but this is what they are degrading it to). Of course you can say different teams are working on different parts of the game, but that doesn't change the fact that the dress up content is getting more (especially with collabs taking over hand so you can dress your female as your favorite anime char up), but the normal content is getting more bland, less and drip fed (look how fucking long it took them to give us our second ultimate quest, SEGA please).

I'm sure someone already said something like this while I was sleeping, but it has nothing to do with sexism.

It's just that... after ~25 years, this is how they advertise phantasy star? What happened to the legacy of the RPG that was made to compete with final fantasy? I kinda already know the answer to this question seeing is PSO2 lacks atmosphere, a sense of identity to go with its inherited 'phantasy star' name, and is little more than an advertizing platform for anime, and other RPGs SEGA has no rights to.

I don't know about you, but it's kind of embarrassing to play a game that the company themselves advertise like this, and hasn't done enough to be more than that for years, so I really can't readily defend the game due to its historic lack of depth.

This commercial, along with that one QA session where someone admitted to PSO2 being a character creation engine with gameplay added on is like SEGA themselves saying they have no love for this game/this is all their players want, and should expect/gave up on making it more than that.

In short; the message they put out to represent PSO2 is embarrassing to the players, the franchise name, and SEGA.

Oh how edgy! Sharp as a Rose eh? I like that your argument is plainly a shame tactic, something the fems love to do, at least I know where you stand from. I am sorry if my manhood offends your sophisticated taste. Listen and believe drone!

It's Japanese. The country where there's entire buildings dedicated to eroge. Where you can pay for someone to clean your ear and cuddle you. How that tame ad is even surprising for you(and other people)? Also, is that really the only ad for the game? Chances are it's the 100th ad so it's nothing new for them anyway.

Your PS identity is dead. I don't like it any more than you like it. But I don't mind the skimpy outfits. I would love a PS5, like any other PS fan, kind of expected Nova to be it, but it's not coming.

Embarassed? By playing a video game? Please, I have no such insecurity, I pay my bills and play videogames as a hobby, don't care about what the hell anyone else thinks about me or my game.

I didn't see nothing sexist with the ad, I found it silly, but that's how it was meant to be, silly in a cute way. But I just see how feminazis(and sympathisers) could lose their sleep over it, just how it happens with everything they dislike. That's why I related it with the number of dislikes. Also where is that QA declaration?

I don't get why some of you are so insecure over something like that, really.

My argument was the rest of the post you ignored, because you were offended by one remark that was simply mocking you, for pulling "only feminists dislike the commercial" out of your ass argument. You ignoring my argument says more about you, than my two sentences mocking your statement says about me.

p.s. your last sentence makes you sound like a drone. Seeing as you don't even know what my believes are.

I'm not insecure over it. Just sad the PS identity is dead, and SEGA is driving the nails into the coffin with the ad. Again, it's a statement about the game, no matter if it's the 10th ad, or the hundredth, when the game could be, and should be alot more than that. How they market the game as a whole is like foreshadowing the future. :/

ps: I wouldn't mind if they were advertizing AC scratch content purely, but they threw in the bust slider, and two revealing female-only costumes specifically so no one could really argue this is an AC scratch ad.

Yes the AD is tame, but what is surprising to me is how readily SEGA would associate their product with this. I expected a little... respect and pride for the franchise. Not this. As such, how would people have respect for PS as is when SEGA shows none? This is like telling me to not expect much from SEGA or PSO2.

Also, you're going to have to ask around for the 'character creation engine' bit. It was talked about briefly in a thread some time ago.

Nah that wasn't necessary at all, you just were dying to take a stab at me for some reason since my post actually offended you, and your points were answered before you actually replied the first time, stop projecting. I don't care about your beliefs, and don't bother with silly passive-aggressive insults, it's not my style.

Aye. I have no interest in discussing this any further.
